COURSE STRUCTURE:

The course is delivered entirely online, hosted by World Continuing Education Alliance (WCEA). The entire course is made up of 10 Course modules.  Please scroll down to review course  syllabi, descriptions and objectives for individual courses:

You may purchase all 10 Courses together (Course 11 contains all 10 course-modules).   Or you may purchase Course 1 through 10 separately.  You may continue to progress through the courses at your own pace, though we recommend completing a course a week to achieve certification within three months. Students with special needs click here.

You may take the course for credit by completing and passing all quizzes and a final exam.  Or you may audit the course, in which case you are not required to complete examinations. Should you wish to take the course for credit later, or if you are unable to complete the course within the allotted time frame, you are welcome to take the course again by signing up and paying the course fee. GRADING:

A final passing grade of 75% or more qualifies you for a Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences (CITIS) Certificate of Completion. Graduates licensed in California as LMFTs, LCCs, LEPs LCSWs and CCCs in Canada, or other jurisdictions through the World Continuing Education Alliance may be eligible to receive continuing education credits.

Passing Course 11, (or upon passing each of the 10 courses separately) will entitle you to  Level 1 Certification in Embodied Awareness from the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences.  Level 1 is a prerequisite to Level 2 Embodied Awareness Facilitator Certification. You may choose to register as an auditor if you do not wish to take the exams.

COURSE SCHEDULE:

Students may register and begin the course at any time. Go at your own pace; though we  completing one course per week to gain full certification within three months.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Courses 1 through 5 offer foundational information and language designed to expand awareness and build new thinking that  supports the generation of integrative neural fibers that will help you evolve your brain, steady your heart, relax your body, expand your intuition and embody your spirit.

Courses 6 through 10 offer guidance and direction, including specific exercises, designed to remove barriers to awakening Self-realization and offers guidelines that can assist you in helping yourself and others to adjust focus and change your state of consciousness, to become an instrument for universal healing energies and be receptive to wisdom and inner guidance.

COURSE # 1 SYLLABUS-EMBODIED AWARENESS ONLINE: AN INTRODUCTION TO SPIRITUALLY DIRECTED THERAPY

This first course provides an introduction to Spiritually Directed Therapy. Correlate 5 steps to recovery from injury  to cross-cultural rites of passage and  the stages of recovery from mass disaster trauma  Define  ‘trauma induced spiritual awakening’ and Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG). Learn tools to support personal emotional healing and community renewal

Objective 1:
Define embodied awareness and explore the nature of personal and spiritual growth

COURSE # 2 SYLLABUS- EGO DEATH AND THE HUMAN STRESS RESPONSE [3 CE credits]

Description: This is the second of ten on-line modules in the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences(CITIS) Certification Program.  It is designed to train you to identify and apply contemporary, ancient and indigenous integrative Self-care practices to assist those experiencing stress and strife, or recovery from past trauma.  The practices and theories are identified as ‘Embodied Awareness’. Course 2 reviews research on neuroplasticity, intuition and spirituality and how they interact with brain, body and consciousness. Discuss the neurophysiology of the human stress response and how the human stress response reflects the human evolutionary process. Identify steps to recovery from grief, loss, unexpected change, stress and trauma.

Objective 1:
Compare an existential ‘ego death’ and the stages of loss to the instinctive mammalian faint-fight-flight-freeze and tend-and-befriend survival-stress-responses

COURSE # 3 SYLLABUS –  YOUR TRANSCENDENT HEART-BRAIN AND ENERGY BODY [3 CE credits]

Description: This is the third of ten on-line modules in the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences(CITIS) Certification Program.  It is designed to train you to identify and apply contemporary, ancient and indigenous integrative Self-care practices to assist those experiencing stress and strife, or recovery from past trauma.  The practices and theories are identified as ‘Embodied Awareness’. Course 3 reviews research on neruro-cardiology: the heart’s electro-chemical signals (EKG) and electromagnitic energy fields  impact on the brain and body to reduce stress. Compare  and contrast Western and Eastern energy systems including chakras, pranic healing, energy work and breathing practices to contemporary scientific research.

Description: This is the fourth of ten on-line modules in the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences(CITIS) Certification Program.  It is designed to train you to identify and apply contemporary, ancient and indigenous integrative Self-care practices to assist those experiencing stress and strife, or recovery from past trauma.  Course four discusses a case study and demonstrates how one may apply the Spiritually Directed Protocol® and embodied awareness inner-work to address work-place bullying, ‘family wounds’ and generational trauma.  Define and review Jungian archetypes, symbolic process, and indigenous shamanic practices as therapeutic modalities that support of personal healing and community renewal.

Description: This is the fifth of ten on-line modules in the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences(CITIS) Certification Program.  It is designed to train you to identify and apply contemporary, ancient and indigenous integrative Self-care practices to assist those experiencing stress and strife, or recovery from past trauma.  Course five reviews, defines and discusses basic human needs, within the context of lateral violence, patterns of oppression and diversity issues they relate to healing from inter-generational trauma. Description: This is the sixth of ten on-line modules in the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences(CITIS) Certification Program.  It is designed to train you to identify and apply contemporary, ancient and indigenous integrative Self-care practices to assist those experiencing stress and strife, or recovery from past trauma.  Course six compares, contrasts and shows the reader how to distinguish between intuitive feelings, emotional feelings, thoughts, value-judgments and psychological projections. Description: This is the seventh of ten on-line modules in the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences(CITIS) Certification Program.  It is designed to train you to identify and apply contemporary, ancient and indigenous integrative Self-care practices to assist those experiencing stress and strife, or recovery from past trauma.  Course seven introduces and defines the concept known as the ‘Guardian Archetype’.  The course clarifies and identifies specific traits associate with barriers to spiritual growth and the role of psychological blocks to spiritual progress. One will gain specific techniques that develop and enhance a capacity for insight and awareness.  Learn specific cognitive tools to shift  false beliefs and dysfunctional attitudes. Define how one becomes ‘a conduit for self-healing’.

Description:  This is the eighth of ten on-line modules in the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences(CITIS) Certification Program.  It is designed to train you to identify and apply contemporary, ancient and indigenous integrative Self-care practices to assist those experiencing stress and strife, or recovery from past trauma (PTSD).  This course discusses and defines each of the 12 senses of embodied awareness; and includes ancecdotal stories as well as case studies to help the reader gain in-depth understanding of the ancient Egyptian model of 12 senses. The course also reviews methods to expand awareness of the 7 subtle senses.Give examples of proprioceptive felt-sense (clairsentience), transmission of emotion (telepathy), transmission of ideas (intention), clear seeing (clairvoyance), spiritual discernment, intuition and spiritual realization.

Description: This is the ninth of ten on-line modules in the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences(CITIS) Certification Program.  It is designed to train you to identify and apply contemporary, ancient and indigenous integrative Self-care practices to assist those experiencing stress and strife, or recovery from past trauma (PTSD). Course 9 defines and applies the T-R-U-S-T inner work contemplative meditation for embodied awareness. One gains specific guidelines and therapeutic tools to elicit inner-directed Self-care practices,  Course 9 focuses on practical experience with step-by-step exercises to  engage the 12 senses of embodied awareness. By the end of this course one will be able to Identify somatic, emotional and cognitive signals associated with reaching a state of Embodied Awareness.

COURSE: #10 SYLLABUS – SELF-ECOLOGY AND SELF-CARE [3 CE credits]

Description: This is the tenth of ten on-line modules in the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences (CITIS) Certification Program.  It is designed to train you to identify and apply contemporary, ancient and indigenous integrative Self-care practices to assist those experiencing stress and strife, or recovery from past trauma (PTSD).  Course ten defines Self-ecology. By the end of this course, one is able to define and Identify specific guidelines to create strategies for balancing body-heart-mind-and -spirit. Case studies and examples of individuals who have build Inner-Directed Self-Care plans are reviewed. Examples of a grass-roots community model for health and wellness is outlined and includes step-by-step instruction on how to build community renewal after  and others to build personalized inner-directed Self-care plans using the Spiritually Directed Protocol®.

COURSE: #11 SYLLABUS – CERTIFICATION PROGRAM: INTRODUCTION TO SPIRITUALLY DIRECTED THERAPY: COURSES 1 – 10 [33 CE credits] includes all 10 courses.

By completing all 10 courses you will be able to explain and describe the interaction between our outer physical world and  inner subtle intra-psychic realities.  Special attention is given to using inner spiritual healing resources, symbolic process and embodied awareness to transform post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) into post-traumatic growth (PTG). A blend of best-practices in psychology together with cross-cultural spiritual healing traditions  are reviewed, ranging from  Drs Tedeschi and Calhoun from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte symptoms of post traumatic growth; and explore Hedva’s evidence based Spiritually Directed Protocol® for recovery from trauma to ancient Hindu and other Indigenous traditions provide specific tools and techniques that help to convert traumatic injury into personal growth and learning.

Discussion of the human stress response, including defining the relationship of the human brain, neuro-plasticity of the triune brain, combined with neurocardiology of the heart and other significant neural plexi supply sensory and perceptual signals are defined.  Step-by-step experiential practices the T-R-U-S-T contemplative mediation practice and Self-directed inner-work practices are included in the therapeutic tools and techniques reviewed in courses 6-10.  You will be introduced to important concepts, theories and specific exercises that show you how to move beyond traditional mantra and mindfulness meditation or exclusively body-oriented somatic psychotherapies into a full embodied awareness to support emotional healing and community wellness.

Certifications: Level 1 Embodied Awareness On-Line training contains 10 on-line courses. Each course consists of three Sections and each Section has a multiple-choice quiz at the end of the lesson. Each quiz is designed to confirm your overall review of the material. You may take the course for credit or noncredit. To gain full credit an exam a score of 75% is required to pass Level 1 Certification and progress to Level 2 Embodied Awareness Group Training.  Level 1 is a prerequisite to level 2 training.  Level 2 is by invitation only and includes face-to-face experiential training and supervised practicum.
