Dr. Beth Hedva

As a counselor, she helps individuals find enlightening ways to succeed in meeting life’s greatest challenges. You will find her listed in Cambridge, England’s 12th Edition of The World’s Who’s Who of Women, nominated for inclusion in the 1st edition of the Marquis Who’s Who in Medicine & Health Care. Beth Hedva was inducted into the American Biographic Institute’s 2009 Hall of Fame for “Humanitarian Contributions in Cross-Cultural Psychology”.

Dr. Hedva held core faculty appointments in Antioch University’s Department of Clinical Psychology, and John F. Kennedy University’s prestigious Department of Consciousness Studies in California. Dr. Beth Hedva made her reputation by blending ancient and indigenous cross-cultural healing practices and spiritual traditions, with modern psychological best practices to promote an integrative approach to community health and wellness. Dr. Beth Hedva is a licensed Psychologist and a Marriage, Family and Child Counselor. Since its inception in 1989, she has practiced as a Clinical Parapsychologist-having worked as an ‘Expert Intuitive’ and liaison to the Office of Paranormal Investigation on research teams to explore ghosts, hauntings and poltergeists.

Dr. Hedva holds certifications in somatic sexology, as well as medical hypnosis, plus is certified as a Diplomat in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Psychological Specialties. She has a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, a Masters Degree in Transpersonal Psychology and a PhD in Psychology, and was the Director of Clinical Internships and Field Placement at two universities in California. She has trained and taught counseling professionals globally.

Dr Hedva was invited by the Indonesian Psychology Association to up-grade the training of psychologists and volunteer recovery workers in Aceh after the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami Disaster. The United Nations Ambassador from the government of Burkina Faso, together with the Human Rights Committee, invited Dr. Beth Hedva to present her work in Aceh on a panel entitled “Human Rights Violations and Recovery: Spirit, Mind and Body Practices.” In February 2008, she joined United Nations Child Ambassador, Mariatu Kamura, on her UNICEF mission to post-civil war Sierra Leone, and was invited to join the Association for Trauma Outreach and Prevention mission to Haiti. There she trained 275 local Haitian volunteer recovery workers in response to the January 12, 2010 earthquake.

One of North America’s leading relationship experts, Dr. Beth Hedva was the On-Line “Ask an Expert” for Reader’s Digest Canada. She specializes in intimacy enhancement, cross-cultural Sacred Sexual Practices, and addressing sexual issues in therapy. Dr. Beth Hedva lectures world-wide on how to over-come personal, interpersonal, man-made and natural disasters, and has trained helping professionals in medical schools and universities across Canada in her Spiritually Directed Therapy Protocol for Recovery from Trauma.

Currently Dr. Beth Hedva is Director of Training and Counseling Services for Finkleman Communications and co-founder of the Canadian Institute for Transpersonal and Integrative Sciences in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and formerly, Chair of Continuing Education, and former Director of the International Council of Psychologists, and former Canadian Chair of the Association for Trauma Outreach and Prevention.
